Are you looking for a trigger to help you capture lightning? The Strike Finder® 2 is what you need!

The SF2 camera trigger is a compact, sensitive and responsive camera trigger, designed to capture lightning strikes either day or night! It’s just four inches in size, enabling it maintain a low profile.

The Strike Finder® 2 mounts onto the camera hot shoe so you can walk away and let it do all of the hard work!

Strike Finder® 2 is compatible with most cameras, simply specify which camera connection you need.

Depending on the storm, lightning flashes can last for several hundred milliseconds (ms) and contains dozens of strokes each occurring approximately 40 milliseconds apart. The Strike Finder 2 has a response time in microseconds enabling you to capture those strikes.

Recommended Settings

Speed is the key to capturing good lightning photos! Your camera should be set to turn off any feature that could slow it's speed. For example:
• Use the camera's manual mode, not auto
• Set the lens to manual focus
• Turn off image stabilization function
• Turn off noise reduction
• Turn off wi-fi and GPS

Conditions will dictate your camera's settings, but here are some good starting points:

Night time settings : 0.3"-1/8", f 1.8 – 7.1 adjust as needed

Day time settings : 1/8" – 1/30", f 1.8 – 7.1 adjust as needed ISO 200 – 400
