Latest Revisions

In this update, version 1.1 addresses two things:

  1. Increased speed with relation to sound. The Touch was improved to increase sound-to-trigger response rate by about 25 ms! This means you can capture events nearly instantaneously without much difficulty! See images below.
  2.  Secondly, the Touch sensitivity to daytime lightning was also improved. It is more sensitive to “seeing” and responding to day lighting strikes than ever before. In the past, it responded well to evening strikes and darker storms but had some difficulty with day lightning strikes especially in the brighter part of the storms. The hardware was improved to make it respond more favorably to day strikes without inhibiting night capability at all.

How can I tell if I need an upgrade?

When you first turn on the Strike Finder™ Touch, there is a version number listed on the bottom right part of the screen. If it says, version 1.0, you’re eligible for the upgrade. If it says version 1.1, you already have the latest updates and no update is required.

How do I upgrade to version 1.1

Since this is a firmware update, meaning, the actual hardware within the device itself has changed, you will need to send it back for an upgrade. Please mail to:

Strike Finder™
19141 Stone Oak Ste. 104
San Antonio, TX 78258
210-571-1022

How much does it cost?

In order to cover the cost of shipping and updating the hardware, the cost is $25. This is payable by a check or credit card. Simply print a copy of the receipt and send it back with the Strike Finder™ Touch.

Do I need to upgrade?

No, if you are happy with your Strike Finder™ Touch, there is no need to upgrade. This revision only applies to improved sound response time and better sensitivity to daytime lightning.
